Monchong and Weekend Specialties 4.23.15 April 22 2015 Posted in

Monchong is the headliner this week and we have some gorgeous whole fish incoming from Hawaii for the weekend.  Monchong are also known as Sickle Pomfret and has a pinkish flesh, firm texture and moderate flavor.  Its firm texture lends well to many preparations, however in our opinion the grill or the broiler is the way to go.  Monchong are caught in deep waters and are typically by-catch of tuna and sword longliners.  As by-catch goes, it doesn’t get better than this!
