Lay the shrimp flat in the palm of your hand.
Carefully insert kitchen shears into the front of the shrimp (just under the shell and in the very top part of the meat) and cut down the back of the shrimp until you reach the tail.
Once the shell is cut you should be able to easily peel it away from the meat.
After the shell is removed you should have a slight incision along the back of the shrimp that exposes the vein. Using your fingers, remove the vein and rinse the shrimp thoroughly under cold water.
Once finished you should be left with a perfectly peeled and deveined shrimp that is recipe ready!
