Belon Oyster Season and Weekend Specialties September 27 2017 Posted in

Fall marks the beginning of peak oyster season as oysters use the drop in water temps to start feeding and fattening to survive through winter.  The end of September always brings a welcome addition to our lineup with the start of Maine Flat (aka Belon Oyster) season.  We source our belons from a hard-shell clam fishery in Casco Bay, off of Harpswell Island.  These belons are wild and not for the faint of heart, with super metallic taste.
