Peconic Bay Scallops and Weekend Specialties 11.9.17 November 09 2017 Posted in
We know, it’s the 2nd bay scallop e-mail in the past three weeks. Please excuse our exuberance, but when you live and breathe seafood, there are few things that get us more excited than the start of the northeastern bay scallop season. It’s Mother Nature’s way of giving us a little treat before the cold weather fully moves in. A couple of weeks ago, we saw the Massachusetts season come on line and this week, the Peconic Bay season has started. While the Martha’s Vineyards and Nantucket Bays have more notoriety, in our humble opinion you just can’t beat the Peconic bay scallop. The Peconic lies 90 miles due east of New York City and these deliciously sweet scallops are shipped to us on the harvest day, ensuring an immedicably fresh product. Early indications suggest the season is off to a great start. We’ll be getting new shipments on Tuesday and Thursday (shucked and live) while supplies last.
We hope you'll stop by this weekend and take advantage! Stay tuned next Thursday for another edition of specialty items. Please note that occasionally items listed will not make it to our store due to weather or unforeseen supply issues.
