Wild Salmon Season and Weekend Specialties 6.1.17 May 31 2017 Posted in

Wild salmon season is starting to get in gear.  The famed Copper River has opened in the past two weeks and other venerable spawning grounds are opening soon or have opened already.  There’s nothing better than warm weather and gorgeous, fatty, wild salmon that so exemplifies the start of June.  While the overall season is projecting to be a little bleaker than last year’s huge catch, we’ll be seeing plenty of wild kings, sockeyes and cohos throughout the summer.  This week we have some gorgeous kings caught right off of Vancouver Island as they make their way to spawning grounds in rivers off the coast.  Come on by for the season’s first taste!
